From the brewers who bring you Tooheys Extra Dry, The Clean Crisp Taste

Tooheys Extra Dry, one of the largest beer brands in the country, is expanding its range of products with the release of 5 Seeds, a lightly sparkling cider with a clean, crisp taste. The distinctive flavour of 5 Seeds comes from fermented apple juice balanced with cane sugar. As well as its flavour, 5 Seeds also takes its name from its main ingredient – when an apple is cut in half across the core, it usually has five seed chambers, each with a seed inside it.

Tooheys 5 Seeds was released on the 3rd of August 2009 selling for around 11 to 12 dollars, it now sells steady for around $15.99 for a 6-pack and $49.99 for a case. 5 Seeds will provide a refreshing alternative for cider & beer drinkers across Australia, and add to the growing inventory of ciders coming into the market.

5 seeds can be found at its parent company's homepage.

Expanding Our Catalogue

As you can see from our most recent posts, we have a new author in our stables. His name is Tmac. I felt it might be useful to introduce him & what he'll bring to Libsynth. Firstly, Tmac is our in-library expert on Cider Beer, having an acquired taste to Appley alcoholic beverages, he will hopefully discuss his little-known preference in beer. He is also able to name pretty much every Decepticon & Autobot, and being a true fan despises Michael Bay's lack of following the true storyline & frequent unnecessary explosions. Tmac's only known vice is his obsession with Dragon Ball Z, I'm puzzled by this infatuation with Goku, apparently he's almost finished the 400+ eps of the entire series. On a more positive note, like Max & myself Tmac doesn't like to define his taste in music and isn't restrained by genres & hypebeasts. Look for his signature at the bottom of posts & you'll be reading the freshest news as he gets it.

Libsynth don't endorse wearing shirts of this shade of yellow, he's been warned..

Welcome to Libsynth, Tmac!

Nobody Loves Me

Them Crooked Vultures have today released a new YouTube video; the video is a studio teaser trailer that encompasses the band as they jam & record some awe-inspiring tunes.

A Crooked New Supergroup..

For the last four or so years there has been rumours arising about a new supergroup consisting of Queens of the Stone Age’s lead man Josh Homme, former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl (whom currently fronts Foo Fighters). The rumour became reality on August 10th this year as 'Them Crooked Vultures' played their debut at ‘Metro’ in Chicago.

According to The Chicago Tribune, Grohl played drums; Homme took the guitar and vocals, while Jones was on bass and keyboards, with a 75 minute performance at an apparently jam-packed Metro.

The trio has been working on an album in Los Angeles since the beginning of the year, but their music has been kept under wraps with no leaks to our community ‘torrent’ sites and ‘peer to peer’ software just yet. The band has a ’14 second’ video based on their song ‘Nobody Loves Me’ that can be found at youtube.

With such a prolific lineup ‘Them Crooked Vultures’ will hopefully produce a shining debut album that defines the meaning of ‘Hard Rock’. Looking at the set list from their first gig thus far (see below), the entire set list is fastidiously fresh & will likely feature on their album.

I know I’m looking forward to their debut album, and hope they don’t succumb to the ‘Supergroup’ syndrome and cark it after one album.

Them Crooked Vultures set list at Metro:

Elephants
New Fang
Scumbag Blues
Dead End Friends
Bandoliers
Mind Eraser
Gunman
Daffodils
Interlude w/ Ludes
Caligulove
Warsaw
Nobodys Loves Me

Setlist from: The Chicago Tribune

Jay-Z: 'The Blueprint 3' Tracklisting

You've probably realised by now that i'm a 'Hovaddict'. The tracklisting for 'The Blueprint 3', September 11th release, has been put up on the Jay-Z site. I hadn't heard about the Luke Steele 'What we talkin' Bout' collab, so I'm interested to hear what comes of it. I'm pleased that 'Jockin' Jay-Z' & 'Brooklyn Go Hard' haven't been thrown into the mix (as they're now at least 12 months old), and there's plenty of fresh tracks with sweet collabs (Alicia Keys, Kid Cudi & Pharrell) that haven't been released yet. I can't wait to get my hands on this, with high expectations following 'American Gangster'..

Gentlemen Broncos

Jared Hess' third major (written & directed) film Gentlemen Broncos, follows on from the cult success of Napolean Dynamite (Jon Heder) and to a lesser extent Nacho Libre (Jack Black). Gentlemen Broncos stars some well known talent such as Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Michael Angarano (The Forbidden Kingdom), Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie) & Sam Rockwell (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford).

Acclaimed author Dr. Ronald Chevalier (Clement) is in need of a new story, which leads to him stealing home schooled teenager Benjamin Purvis' (Angarano) draft novel "Bronco". Following the publishing of Benjamin's story, awkward confrontations between Chevalier & Benjamin ensue as Benjamin tries to reclaim his story. Fox have also created a website for Clement's fictional character; Dr. Ronald Chevalier, this establishes a back story into his character & displays additional videos highlighting the many sides of Chevalier as a lead up to the release of the movie.

The trailer suggests Hess' trademark style, focusing on character-based awkwardness & an off-centre indie soundtrack, featuring Shout Out Louds- The Comeback.

Gentlemen Broncos opens October 30, 2009 (Will it be a major cinema release in Australia? Unlikely)
